At this point, Seth Morrison needs little introduction. His unique brand of high-flying skiing left a permanent mark on the sport, proving that the limits of human possibility aren't actually limits—they're suggestions.

In a recent video upload, Matchstick Productions' revisited Morrison's skiing and rereleased his segment from the now 21-year-old Focused.

Had Focused been released yesterday, it wouldn't be dated thanks to Morrison's timeless skiing, aside from the nostalgia-inducing footage quality and backing track from Modest Mouse. Morrison was unquestionably ahead of the curve.

Now, he's stepped away from the limelight, occasionally sharing ski-related updates on his Instagram page and, this past fall, appearing in a photo feature for POWDER shot by Aurelie Gonin. You'd be hard-pressed to find more about his whereabouts short of knowing the man himself.

There's an urge to beg the likes of Morrison to make a triumphant return to the silver screen, to release a new video part that, if anything, could provide curious skiers with an update on his life. He still has droves of devoted fans, after all.

From what I gather, this urge is misguided. Morrison did the professional skier thing, but he's moved on, choosing to relate with skiing on his own terms—not someone else's.

That's worth celebrating. The professional skiing circuit can be draining and, in some cases, turn people off from snowsports entirely. Knowing that Morrison still cares about the sport he helped shape is enough.
