The Cleveland Browns have some roster questions that could be answered come the end of the month. With the NFL draft just days away, the Browns have some key positions that could use some bolstering, including the defensive tackle position.
The defensive line unit is talented across the board. The entire unit seems to be nearly set in stone with both starters and backups. Defensive tackle is a position that could use a little more depth through the draft.
The Browns have had visits, rumors, and practices where they have watched certain defensive tackles. Here are three players at the defensive tackle position that could be useful for the Browns to take at the end of the month.
Three Draft Targets the Browns May Add As Depth on Defensive Line
Brandon Fiske, Florida State
The Browns have been in contact with Brandon Fiske, the 6 ‘5, 297 pounder at the defensive tackle position. He spent four seasons at Western Michigan and a fifth collegiate season at Florida State. Fiske was consistent the entirety of his time at both schools.
He left Western Michigan with 148 tackles, two passes defended, 13.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. In his 2023 season with the Seminoles, he registered 43 tackles and six sacks.

Fiske plays with great intensity and uses quick short strides when rushing. He can defend both the run and the pass well. With great guys around him, he could thrive on the Browns line if taken with a second or third-round pick.

Michael Hall Jr., Ohio State
Another player that is worth the pick in the earlier rounds is defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. Hall spent three seasons all with the Ohio State Buckeyes. While his numbers don’t stick out, his size and potential do.
Hall had just two tackles as a freshman before getting a bigger opportunity. In his sophomore season, he registered 19 tackles and four and a half sacks. Last season he totaled 24 tackles and one and a half sacks.

Hall has played three injuries and still received Third-team all-conference honors last season and honorable mention the season prior. A bit undersized, he plays bigger than his frame. Using his twitchiness, quick feet, and hand coordination, the Browns may take their shot at him panning out.

T’Vondre Sweat, Texas
T’Vondre Sweat is another five-year collegiate defensive tackle. Sweat spent his entire career with the Texas Longhorns, and also has skills that are more impressive than numbers.
Sweat was a force at the defensive tackle position, totaling 127 tackles in his time as a Longhorn. He had 15 passes defended and five sacks as well, and was named the top interior lineman on either side of the ball in all of college football.
His size and skillset make him a fit in any system, including the Browns. The speed is not there, but there always needs to be multiple eyes on him. His power, strength, and ability to hold in place make him a worthy pick like the guys mentioned before him.
All three of these prospects would be huge for the Browns to add at the defensive tackle position. With a top-rated defense returning nearly everyone, one more piece in the draft could make the difference with the point of attack led by Myles Garrett.
